Christmas Wreath

23/12/2013

For the last couple of years I have been meaning to make my own Christmas wreath, I have had all the things to make it but just never got round to making it.  Today was the day that I finally made it!  I was off today as had a really bad cold but I soon got bored, I didn’t have enough energy to do any house work, so I decided to make my wreath (and my #craftblog Secret Santa which I will post about at a later date!)

The wreath I have is an artificial one from B and Q which I bought a couple of years ago, the ones that they have in just now are smaller and not as thick.

I had a few decorations in my craft stash from a couple of Christmases ago and also had some floral decorations such as cinnamon sticks, candied apples and berries.  I bought a Santa tree decoration from M&S and thought he would look perfect on the wreath.  My friend made my bow as I am pretty useless when it comes to making them.

I stuck on Santa and some decorations using a hot glue gun.  The berries, cinnamon sticks, apples and bow are attached using wire.

I filled out the wreath by putting in some pine cones, toadstools and some more berries.  I am very pleased with how it looks and it didn’t take too long to make either.  It will have to be an indoor wreath as the decorations will get spoiled by the rain and snow, so I have it hanging on the outside of my living room door.

Holiday Wreath

Have you made any Christmas crafts?  I would love to see them 🙂

My Christmas bauble wreath died in storage so sadly I'm wreath-less this year. Also decorations are now banned on all apartment doors .. so that doesn't help. I use to do a lot of floral decorations with my mum for Christmas, so hopefully whenever we get around to finding our first house it'll be something I do too.

I love the yours and how you've added in decorations, wreaths certainly seem to becoming back in popularity.

Awwww RIP Wreath :(! That's not good about your apartment rules, I wouldn't have thought a wreath would damage the door. You could make some floral arrangements for your home? At least in the US you have better stores like Michaels' and Hobby Lobby than we have over here to make things like that, wish we had stores like that over here :(.

Hope you have a lovely Christmas 🙂 xx

  2. Wonderful wreath! It's so creative! I've made a few Christmas crocheting items that I'll be posting very soon! Btw, I saw your previous post about giving through the holiday season, I try to give a donation when I see the salvation army outside stores. It's so important to help people all during the year. I hope you're feeling better!

      Hi Lottie
Thanks for dropping in by :)! These wreaths were already made up plain (I've seen people make up their own using the wire frames and the greenery, not sure how easy that would be) that I decorated. I have bought a fresh plain wreath today to decorate, I can do a step by step post on that showing how I've decorated (have to buy some more things for it first) if that would be of interest to you? 🙂 xx
