As a huge hot chocolate lover and someone who also loves peanuts I jumped at the chance to try Peanut Hottie. Peanut Hottie comes in two flavours, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Peanut Butter. Not only can you drink these but you can also add these peanut butter powders to smoothies, cereals, use in baking or cooking, you could even mix with water to make a spread for your toast. Peanut Hottie is high in protein and has 80% less fat compared to other leading peanut butter brands. It is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
While I enjoyed the Chocolate Peanut Butter as a spread on toast I wasn’t so keen on it as a drink. It wasn’t sweet enough for my liking as I do like my hot drinks quite sweet. However once I added 3 sweeteners to it I found that I could drink it. Another good way to use the peanut butter spread is to use it as a dip for apple slices. This is a really tasty snack full of protein and also flavour. You could also add the peanut butter powder to milk/almond milk and ice to make a milkshake if you prefer cold drinks.
I’ve got a few peanut butter powder recipes in mind to try; mixing with coconut milk to make a satay sauce or even using it to add a bit of extra flavour to flap jacks and cupcakes. I’ve also discovered a recipe for a Slimming World friendly Peanut Hottie Cheese Cake which sounds amazing!

If you are a fan of old fashioned sweets but have to avoid them due to some of the contents then these Free From Fellows are for you! These gluten and gelatine free sweets come in 7 different flavours to try including Cola Bottles, Gummy Bears, Wine Gums, Rhubarb & Custard and even a pack of Lollipops which will likely transport you back to your childhood.
I tried both the Pear Drops and Midget Gem flavours and even though these are sugar free sweets I could not tell as they still had a sweet taste. The Midget Gems come in two colours, red and black unlike the original ones that include green, orange and clear. The flavours are blackcurrant and raspberry. They are not as hard as the originals as these are quite soft and chewy but they are really, really lovely. Plus they don’t stick to your teeth! The Pear Drops are individually wrapped so you could just take a few out with you rather than the whole packet. These tasted just the same as the originals and came in a pear shaped pink/yellow combination.
These vegan sweets are approved by The Vegan Society so you can still enjoy your old favourites without eating any animal products. Also another bonus is that the packaging is 100% recyclable unlike a lot of other brands.
Which flavour would you choose? You can find Free From Fellows on Bravura Foods.
