Cheeseburger Pasta

This cheeseburger pasta is a filling recipe of  beef mince and pasta covered in a tomato sauce and topped with melted cheese, bacon and gherkins. All the flavours of a bacon cheeseburger in a pasta dish!

Ingredients

  • 500 G Steak Mince 5%
  • 1 Onion Chopped
  • 3 Cloves Garlic Minced
  • 400 G Chopped Tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsps Tomato Puree
  • 0.5 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tsp Paprika
  • 300 G Pasta Shapes (Fusilli, Penne, Shells, etc)
  • Salt & Pepper To season
  • 120 G Cheddar Cheese Grated
  • 4 Baby Plum Tomatoes Chopped
  • 2 Whole Gherkins Chopped
  • 2 Bacon Medallions
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Parsley Chopped

Instructions

  1. Add 2 tablespoons of water to a large pan or spray with frylight and place over a medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-5 minutes to soften. Then add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

  2. Add the mince and cook until browned.

  3. In another pan boil the pasta as directed on the packet. Then drain.

  4. Add the tinned tomatoes, tomato puree, paprika, Worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper to the mince. Stir well to mix through.

  5. Then add the cooked pasta. Stir well to coat all of the pasta.

  6. Place the bacon medallions under a medium grill. Once cooked remove from grill and chop.

  7. Put the mince and pasta mixture into a large oven proof dish and add the grated cheese. Stick the dish under the grill under the cheese has melted.

  8. Add the chopped bacon, tomatoes, gherkins and fresh parsley on top before serving.
