Burger and Fries Pie

This Burger and Fries Pie fakeaway tastes like the real thing and is Syn free instead of the 34 syns a Big Mac meal would be.

Ingredients

  • 500 g Beef Mince 5% Fat
  • ½ Onion Chopped
  • 1 Sachet Spicentice Gourmet Burger Spice Mix
  • 400 g Chopped Tinned Tomatoes
  • 2 Baking Potatoes
  • 90 g Grated Cheddar Cheese Optional
  • 2 Tbsps Sliced Gherkins
  • Low Calorie Cooking Spray
  • Salt and Pepper To season

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°c (fan oven)

  2. Cut potatoes into chips and par boil for 4-5 minutes.

  3. Drain the chips and arrange on a baking sheet in a single layer. Spray with low cal cooking spray and place in oven. Cook for 25-30 minutes and turn once. Remove from oven when a golden colour. Leave the oven on as it’s going back in!

  4. Add your mince and burger spice mix to a pan. Brown the mince over a medium heat and then add the chopped onions. Fry for a further 5 minutes.

  5. Add the tinned tomatoes, salt and pepper and allow to simmer for about 15 minutes.

  6. Spray an oven dish with the low calorie cooking spray and add some of the mince mix then layer with some chips. Repeat until you have used all of the chips and mince.

  7. Throw on some sliced gherkins (and cheese if you wish) and place in the oven and cook for a further 10-15 minutes until all the cheese has melted.

  8. Remove from oven and allow to stand for 5 mins.

  9. Serve with a salad.
