Aberdeen | Banchory Beer Festival
As we have been having the most amazing Summer this year and not the usual two days that we normally have we should really make the most of spending as much time outside as we can. Where better than out at the Banchory Beer Festival! Not a beer lover? Me neither, don’t worry they have us covered as there is also gin, rum, cider and my favourite, prosecco for us non-beer drinkers. This year it runs from Friday 10th – Sunday 12th August with the Sunday being their Family Day. So if you fancy a child free day/night out or you don’t have kids then the Friday and Saturday are the days for you.
Its not all just about the beer (or your beverage of choice) at the festival there is also live music, street food and on the Sunday; a magician and balloon artist, face painting, bouncy castles and soft play to keep the children entertained. There is also a teen takeover @ The Barn for 12-16 year olds where they can do street art and graffiti as well as chill out zones.
Live Music
It wouldn’t be a festival without live music and some of the confirmed acts so far are:
The Carloways – a Perthshire Rock n Roll band
The Mad Ferret Band – a traditional and contemporary folk music band
Tamzene – a solo artist from Cromarty
Urang Matang – ska/reggae music band
Street Food
You will need some street food to soak up the alcohol complete the festival experience. Difficulty is which one to choose:
Pizza Geeks – wood fired pizzas that are handmade
Screaming Peacock – gourmet burgers such as venison and pheasant
Shri Bheema’s – Indian food from the award winning restaurant

There is limited parking spaces but there are buses that will take you to the Banchory Beer Festival from Aberdeen as well as from Ballater. Check out the Stagecoach website.
