Blogtober Day 5 – Mini Aldi/Sainsbury’s Halloween Haul

05/10/2015

Aldi have really good Halloween bits and pieces as I discovered last year so I have been looking out for my weekly email they send about their special buys for their Halloween stock.  Finally it arrived earlier in the week and this week’s special buy at Aldi were these serving dishes at £6.99 each.  As it is really difficult to get proper Halloween dishes over here instead of cheapo plastic things I rushed there after I finished work on Thursday so I could get my hands on all three as they are perfect for serving my spooky snacks on, also if you are planning on hosting a party these would look fab on your buffet table.

I bought the pumpkin platter, the divided serving dish and the pack of 3 spiderweb bowls.  They are made from dolomite and are hand painted so no putting them in the dishwasher, they have to be lovingly washed by hand instead.  Grab them while you still can!

When I was in Sainsbury’s yesterday they were just starting to put out their Halloween  merchandise, I will have to go back later in the week to see what all they have got, meanwhile I grabbed this plastic drinks dispenser with Witch’s Brew written on it for only £5.  You can fill it up with a bright green fizzy drink so it looks like a potion for a kid’s party or if you have a signature punch then put it in one of these instead of a bowl for a different look.

Are you hosting a Halloween party this year? I’d love to hear your what your plans are!

I love those serving dishes! I’m hoping Aldi will have something similar this year. We have plastic ones at the moment (which to be fair have lasted us over a decade), but I’d like something a bit more sustainable.

Thanks! 😊 They are really nice although I’ve hardly used them so far. Had a look online at their stock but I couldn’t see any Halloween serveware on there this year. Hopefully they have them in store as Halloween approaches. 10 years is pretty impressive, they have lasted well. If you have a Homesense or TK Maxx near you they usually have Halloween dishes too that aren’t too expensive. Hope you manage to find some Halloween dishes 😊
